AMD’s answer to Nvidia DLSS, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), is now available.
AMD FSR is AMD’s up-res tech, letting you run games at better framerates. The trick is by not rendering the screen at native resolution- rendering it at a lower resolution (hence the performance boost) and the tech fills in the gaps to up-res it at a higher resolution.

AMD FSR not only allows you to play in crazy resolutions like 4K while maintaining high framerate, it also lets underpowered machines get better performance as well.
The first rollout of games is a bit small, only seven, but there will be more coming throughout the year.
Over 40 developers (including the likes of Capcom, Electronic Arts, Gearbox, Obsidian Entertainment, and Ubisoft) have already signed on to add FSR support to their games and game engines.
The current games with AMD FSR support are the following:
- Anno 1800
- Evil Genius 2
- Godfall
- Kingshunt
- 22 Racing Series
- Terminator: Resistance
- The Riftbreaker
Far Cry 6, Baldur’s Gate III, Resident Evil Village, Forspoken, Necromunda: Hired Gun, Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodhunt, Asterigos, Edge Of Eternity, the new remake of Myst, Farming Simulator 22, Swordsman Remake and even Dota 2 will be adding AMD FSR support sometime soon.
Over 100 different AMD GPUs and processors should be able to make use of FSR, which AMD claims to provide 2.4x more performance when running games on 4K compared to running them on native resolution.
If you run an AMD chip, either CPU or GPU, you might be able to make use of it. Update your AMD Radeon Adrenalin Software to the latest version and see if you can use it for these games.
