Activision And Xbox Showcase The Next Call of Duty Installment, Black Ops 7

During the Xbox Showcase Event, Phill Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, took to their virtual stage to reveal the final game before the end of its showcase that left fans of this particular series intrigued.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 isn’t exactly a straightforward sequel many would expect considering the numbering but it is set in 2035, following the events of both 2012’s Black Ops 2 and also somehow, last year’s Black Ops 6, as we once again meet with the BLOP2’s protagonist, David Mason, as he and his team must fight back against a manipulative enemy who weaponizes fear above all else.

This marks the first ever time the series has done consecutive releases of their mainline titles with the same team, as both Treyarch and Raven Software taking the mantle once again. The recent Modern Warfare II and III that came out a year after each other too doesn’t count, as they were made by two different studios, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games.

The game will also be welcoming back Co-op campaigns (last seen in 2015’s Black Ops 3), where a team of 4 players can experience the story mode together, along with the usual suspects of Multiplayer modes and Zombies.

Nothing else is revealed just yet but expect more info to coming in the Summer during the annual Call of Duty NEXT event.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is set to launch for Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, with no word of the Nintendo Switch 2 version in sight as well.
