Lenovo Malaysia announced the arrival of the new for 2025 Lenovo Legion gaming laptops. The 10th generation models include the mid-range Lenovo Legion 5 and 5i, and the higher-power Lenovo Legion Pro 7i and 5i.
The Lenovo Legion 5 and 5i are billed as “the choice for university gamers in non-STEM programs looking for one laptop to do it all.”

For 2025, the screen size has changed from 15.6″ to 15.3″, a little smaller, and a switch to a 16:10 aspect ratio which is all the rage in laptop these days (which Lenovo themselves pioneered). It doesn’t lack the pixels though, the top spec can come with a 2560×1600 165Hz 100% DCI-P3 OLED display.
For the uninitiated, the different between a Legion 5 and Legion 5i is one is powered with an Intel CPU. The Legion 5i can pack up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX while the Legion 5 naturally fits its AMD equivalent, up to an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350.
The 2025 refresh is also 13% lighter and thinner than the outgoing model, and is kept cool with “Legion Coldfront Hyper” thermal tech.
The mid-range Lenovo Legion 5 and 5i haven’t quite arrived in Malaysia yet. The Legion 5i will arrive sometime this June with prices started at RM6,499 whilst the Legion 5 will follow with its arrival expected between June or July this year. Prices for those start at RM5,599.

For those looking for top-level performance in a laptop (and can afford the prices for one of these), the Lenovo Legion Pro series’ 2025 refresh are properly available now in Malaysia.
Geared for competitive gamers looking for an edge, or those who want superior performance at all costs, these 16″ machines, similar to the non-pro Legion models, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i and 7i tops at an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU.
The difference between the Legion Pro 5i and 7i isn’t the screen size. Rather, it is the amount of power it has. Literally. The 2025 Legion Pro 5i goes up to 200W TDP while the Pro 7i steps it up a notch with a TDP of 250W. These laptops can handle up to an RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, though the “90” designation doesn’t mean much in laptops these days.
Cooling this much power is Lenovo Coldfront Hyper thermal system which uses “turbocharged fans and oversized 3D copper heat pipes in a chamber over the processors that are sealed away from other components”.
The 2025 Legion 5i and 7i also comes with a 16″ 2560×1600 240Hz OLED display and per-key RGB for its TrueStrike keyboard (Lenovo’s proprietary keyboard mechanism that blends mechanical switches and membrane keyboard feel). They also supports Wi-Fi 7 and a generous amount of ports: two USB-Cs, and three USB-As, plus HDMI 2.1 and most importantly, RJ45 port for a LAN cable. Because real competitive gamers that play online play on a wired connection.
The 2025 Lenovo Legion 5i starts at RM7,499 while the Legion Pro 7i starts at a eye-watering RM15,999. These are available in Malaysia right now.
In other news, Lenovo recently announced another gaming laptop under the same 10th generation: the Legion 9i, which comes with a Forged Carbon laptop lid and an even higher specs, if you can believe it.
