Yooka-Laylee Finally Coming To Nintendo Switch On December 14

Charming 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee is now released, but not without some setbacks. The proposed Wii U version was scrapped so that it can be ported for Nintendo’s newer console, but the game was just not running as smooth as it should.

Thankfully, developers Playtonic Games managed to iron out the issues with the help of Unity and Nintendo. The platformer inspired by Banjo-Kazooie has found its rightful home.

IGN reported that the game will be running at 900p while docked and 600p in handheld mode. It will also use single Joy-Con for multiplayer modes and includes all the post-release updates that have shipped in the other versions of the game, including a much need improvement on the camera system.

Better late than never. 2017 has been a great year for 3D platformers. While Yooka-Laylee may not be as highly regarded, but it paved way for more games of its genre.
