A few months ago, Sega revealed that Yakuza 3,4 and 5 are coming to PS4 as part of the Yakuza Remastered Collection. Yakuza 3 was available at the time of announcement. And now it’s time for Yakuza 4.
Yakuza 4 is the first in the series to introduce multiple protagonists. Aside from series’ mainstay Kazuma Kiryu, you also play as the loan shark Akiyama, the prisoner on the run Saejima and plucky detective Tanimura in an intertwining story of… whatever is the Yakuza in Kamurocho is up to.
Each of the characters not only have a different story arc, they also play differently too, which would later evolve into Yakuza 0’s style-switching system. Also, Yakuza 4 introduces the Revelation system where you can encounter hillariously over-the-top events that inspires the protagonist to learn new moves.
If you already owned the Yakuza Remastered Collection, Yakuza 4 is now available to download, even on PS Store Asia. Yakuza 5, the last of the collection, will be out later on February 12th, 2020.
