Western Digital has launched all-new Solid State Drives (SSDs) that is now available in Malaysia. These new SSDs comes in both the M.2 and regular 2.5″ form factors, with sizes starting from 250GB to 2TB.
These new SSDs will use the new 54-Layer 3D NAND technology that promises better speeds, lower power consumption and more importantly, better reliability.
WD’s own WD Blue line is target for “DIY enthusiasts”, those who build their own PC rigs whereas the SanDisk Ultra, which is only available as a 2.5″ SATA form, aims for the casual gamer. The SanDisk Ultra is identical in specs to the WD Blue.
The following are the suggested price for three new SSDs:
WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD (2.5″)/ SanDisk Ultra 3D SSD 2.5-inch/7mm version
- RM 620 for 250GB
- RM 1,100 for 500GB
- RM 2,000 for 1TB
- RM 3,800 for 2TB
WD Blue M.2 2280
- RM 640 for 250GB
- RM1,150 for 500GB
- RM 2,100 for 1TB
- RM 3,950 for 2TB
With gaming laptops currently offering open slots for M.2 storage, it might be worth checking out. All the three products will also have three years of warranty.
