Announced during the 2025 Warhammer Skulls showcase, Owlcat Games is making yet another CRPG set in the grim darkness of the far future where there is only war.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy has you in the role of an Inquisitor. Your role? Investigate heresy, command a warband and “shape the fate of the Calixis Sector in a story-rich experience where every decision has weight, justice is non-existent, and the line between salvation and damnation is razor-thin.”
Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy should be familiar to folks who played Owlcat’s previous Warhammer 40K CRPG: Rogue Trader. But less swashbuckling, more heretic-busting this time around.
And your party members are more diversified, there’s an Ogryn seen in the trailer, the big guys familiar to fans of the tabletop game as well as Warhammer 40K: Darktide. There’s also a veteran Guardsman from Catachan, decked-out in Rambo-style jungle warfare gear. And even xenos. You can recruit a Kroot.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG) and Xbox Series X|S.
