Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader Announced, First 40K CRPG, Developed By The Makers Of Pathfinder

Developer Owlcat Games, famous for developing Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, is bringing their CRPG expertise to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Their new game announced at the 2022 Warhammer Skulls Showcase, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, will be the first CRPG set in the 40K universe, and as the title implies, has you play as a Rogue Trader. These are traders and explorers serving under the Imperium Of Man.

In Rogue Trader, you’ll be exploring the Koronus Expanse. You’ll be accompanied by allies that you can recruit which, from the official website teased, can include “a mighty power armoured Space Marine, a lethal Aeldari Ranger, or even a courageous Sister of Battle armed with bolter and ardent prayer”.

The Warhammer 40K games have always been focused on the main warring factions, but it’s about time that the scope for video games has now expanded to highlight some of the more niche parts of 40K lore. The name “Rogue Trader” itself isn’t niche though, that’s what the first edition of the Warhammer 40,000 sourcebook was subtitled as.

There is no release date for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader yet, but the developers have opened pre-orders over on the official website.
