Alongside the announcement of a Closed Network Test, Sega announced today that Crazy Taxi World Tour will feature real-world brand partnerships.
In the original Crazy Taxi, players had to drop off passengers to various places on the map, which includes real-brand stores like KFC, Levi’s and Tower Records. Those brands are missing when Crazy Taxi World Tour was revealed, which featured the same iconic West Coast map (loosely based on San Francisco).
Instead, there are different brands that will appear in West Coast in Crazy Taxi World Tour. Sega has confirmed IHOP (the American pancake restaurant chain) and Amoeba Music (the indie label cum record store that has an active YouTube channel) will be seen in West Coast.
There are no in-game footage or screenshots of those brands appearing in West Coast yet, the new trailer highlighting West Coast only feature fictional shops.
Expect more real-life brand stores to crop up in the other cities around the world you’ll be dropping and fetching people at once those cities are revealed.
Crazy Taxi World Tour will see for the first time in the mainline series where players will be driving taxis in cities across the world. So far, only the classic West Coast map, as featured in the original Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 3, has been shown.
Crazy Taxi World Tour will have a Closed Network Test happening in September, with applications currently open.
Crazy Taxi World Tour will be out in 2027 for the PS5, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
