Crazy Taxi World Tour To Hold Closed Network Test This September

Hey hey! Come on over and have some fun with Crazy Taxi! Sega announced that Crazy Taxi World Tour will have a closed network test this September, and applications are open.

For context, Crazy Taxi World Tour was announced back during the Xbox Game Showcase 2026. This is a new entry for the long-dormant arcade driving/racing game where you pick up passengers and send them to their requested destination at high speed while pulling wacky, sick stunts along the way.

The reveal trailer was strongly received initially, help by reintroducing the original setting and one of the iconic cabbies Axel on the wheel, as well as by having The Offspring’s All I Want, a song now irreversibly intertwined with Crazy Taxi by now. However, the game soon caught flak over its use of generative AI in its development.

The Crazy Taxi World Tour Closed Network Test will feature two game modes:

  • Pickup Race: race to see who can drop their passengers first
  • Cops ‘n’ Cabbies: “a chaotic clash between taxi drivers and the police”

Both game modes are available as Ranked Matches or Custom Matches. The latter lets you configure your own ruleset.
