Unity Engine Adds Native Support For Nvidia DLSS

Expect to see more games to include support for Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) tech in the near future, as the Unity Engine has now added native support for the tech.

This makes it easier for developers on Unity to implement DLSS into their games.

Epic’s Unreal Engine was the first to add Nvidia DLSS support natively to their engine, and now more game engines have followed suit.

Nvidia DLSS performs up-res scaling via the power of AI. The idea being you only need to render the gameplay using less power with the AI filling the gaps, providing similar if not better graphics quality while getting better gaming performance. Though sometimes, the result can be blurry images.

That said, it’s a nice and very useful feature for those who have an Nvidia RTX card, and can easily save gain you some fps on demanding games. So it’s good to see more game engines making it easy for developers to put in support for this feature.

The first Unity game to make use of Nvidia DLSS is Light Brick Studio’s PC port of Lego Builders’ Journey.
