Ubisoft Releases A Free Game On Uplay That Teaches You How To Code

Here’s something nice and free and for all ages. And for those with a high tolerance for Rabbids. Ubisoft has released Rabbids Coding, a free game designed to teach the basics of coding, or programming.

In Rabbids Coding, you build instructions for the Rabbids to complete various tasks, like moving and turning. There is a tutorial with 32 levels and also a sandbox mode where experience players can mess around with the instructions.

Think of it as Lego Mindstorms, Rabbids Edition. You will start by making simple one-use lines of instructions to making full algorithms and with various loops and conditions. It’s a nice way to ease children and folks who are interested to understand the fundamentals of programming, without the need to learn a new (programming) language. All the instructions are constructed in layman terms, with simple drag-and-drop commands.

This is not the first time Ubisoft has made efforts in making their games for educational causes. There is the Discovery Tour edition of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as well as making Assassin’s Creed Unity free for a limited time for players to explore the virtual Notre Dame.

Rabbids Coding is free to download on PC via Uplay.
