Are you ready kids? The first of three pre-E3 game reveals THQNordic has in store in us is a remaster. And it’s from one of the huge backlog of Nickelodeon games as inherited from the previous incarnation of THQ.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom is getting remastered. The game, originally developed by Heavy Iron Studios, is actually a pretty decent 3D platformer. You get to play as SpongeBob, Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks to defend their town of Bikini Bottom from a robot invasion. Also, you get to bungee jumps by getting a wedgie.
The remaster will include an all-new multiplayer mode too.

For now, the publisher has dropped a teaser trailer for the now dubbed SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated.
We’ve been hoping this to be the first to get the remaster treatment. But we’ll see how the new ‘rehydrated’ graphics, handled by Purple Lamp Studios, and the general gameplay, still holds up. The game will be available on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
THQNordic has another two games to be revealed before E3 2019 starts.
