It’s another news of THQ Nordic acquiring more companies. And this one is specifically for THQ Nordic, not its parent company Embracer Group.
The publisher has acquired three more companies, two of which will be under them directly. These are Kaiko, the makers of the recent Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning remaster (and the upcoming new expansion), and Appeal Studios, known for making the 1999 open-world adventure Outcast (1999).
The other company, Massive Miniteam, is also acquired under THQ Nordic, but will be a subsidiary under HandyGames. The press release jokingly refers this as news of THQ Nordic being a grandparent.
Alongside that, THQ Nordic has incorporated two new companies. THQ Nordic France as a distribution company, and Gate 21, based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it will be focusing on making 3D characters (face scanning, head creation, blendshape creation, rigging, and more).
