The Sims 4 Becomes Free-To-Play Starting This October

EA has announced that its life sim game The Sims 4 will become free-to-play.

Beginning October 18, The Sims 4 base game will be completely free to download for PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Origin), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

If any player purchased the game from September 14 to October 18, the period right now before it goes free-to-play, they are entitled to the Desert Luxe Kit as a free gift.

EA Play and EA Play Pro subscribers will also get access to a special edition which includes previously released DLC.

The EA Play Edition adds Get To Work expansion, the EA Play Pro Edition adds Get To Work expansion and Toddler Stuff Pack DLC.

The shift to free-to-play will see The Sims team continuing working on Sims Delivery express drops (free content update), packs and kits (DLC). New information of what’s coming to The Sims will be broadcasted in a special Behind The Sims Summit streaming on October 18, 10 AM PDT (October 19, 1 AM Malaysia Time, +8 GMT).
