Hot off the heels of The Game Awards announcing its list of nomination comes an all-new awards show, just for indie games.
The Indie Game Awards, the IGAs for short, is a new awards-only (no world premier trailers) event to celebrate “excellence in indie gaming with categories that highlight innovation, storytelling, and artistry from groundbreaking indies worldwide.”
The IGAs are organised by Six One Indie.
The IGAs will feature presenters from fellow indie developers across the world, including Indonesia’s Toge Productions representing Southeast Asia. Other presenters include Black Salt Games, Raw Fury, Wishes Unlimited, Yacht Club Games, and InnerSloth.
The 16 categories of awards are selected by a curation jury that includes outlets like Six One Indie, Women-Led Games, Latin American Games Showcase, Wholesome Games, Dames-4-Games, The Indie Informer, and MinnMax. The Judging committee includes outlets like Giant Bomb, Spawn on Me, Wanderbots, AshSaidHi, Playcrafting, IGDA, and “other prominent voices from the indie space”.
