An “interesting” battle arena game, complete with shoutcaster, was shown during Xbox’s E3 conference in the form of The Darwin Project.
The game is stated to be “reinventing the battle royale sub-genre. It challenges players to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous, snow-covered arena. In the Darwin Project, the environment is as dangerous as the players themselves.” It might not be a MOBA like Paragon, but a third person battle arena may fit with the eSport theme that the game is going for with their Show Director mode via Mixer.
The game would launch first on Xbox One, and would benefit from the increased power of the new Xbox One X console, before heading to Steam but the release date is still a mystery. We’ll keep you guys posted when more info is avaliable.
