Bandai Namco announced that the first game from Supermassive Games’ The Dark Pictures Anthology, Man Of Medan, is now available on Nintendo Switch.
The Dark Pictures Anthology is a collection of horror games delivered in a narrative-focused, cinematic presentation. Players take control of various characters, and the way the story unfolds, even the fate of certain characters is up to the players’ action or inaction.
In Man Of Medan, the story is about a group of five friends on a holiday trip only to stumble on a haunted ship.
The Dark Pictures Anthology are known for their high budget presentation, with motion performances, gore and dark, shaky close-up angles. The Switch version, judging by the trailer, does have to make some compromises visually it seems like. But still, a game looking like this running on a relatively little portable console is impressive to see.
The Switch version still has online play for two players, as well as offline co-op supporting up to five players.
There are three other games that are part of the Dark Pictures Anthology’s first season: Little Hope, House of Ashes and The Devil in Me. These games are currently available on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
The Quarry, Supermassive’s last non-VR release, while stylistically similar, is not part of The Dark Pictures Anthology and is published by 2K.
