Thanks To Regional Pricing, Hitman 3 (And The DLCs To Access Past Hitman Levels) Is Ridiculously Cheap In Malaysia

Hitman 3 is out today on PS4, PS5 (including on PS Store Asia), PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox, Stadia and even on Nintendo Switch via cloud game streaming.

If you’re thinking of getting the finale of IO Interactive’s trilogy of new Hitman games, you should consider getting it on a platform where you already own Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2, if you have them. You can import the levels you own to Hitman 3 and play them there.

However, the best deal if you’re in Malaysia is to get it on PC. The Epic Games Store isn’t supporting MYR currency yet, but it has regional pricing, which adjusts the price of a game based on what region you are in.

In the case of Hitman 3, what would be a RM249 purchase on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5, it’s priced at $25.49 USD, which, after taxes, will charge you at RM111.64.

But that’s not all. Since there is a kerfuffle where developers IO Interactive can’t make the system to import past Hitman levels to Hitman 3 on PC (yet), they are compensating by giving the Access Pass DLC to Hitman 1 free for either early-bird buyers (before January 30) or those that picked up Hitman 1 when it was an Epic Games Store free giveaway.

And for Hitman 2, the DLC Access Pass for just the base game levels and the Gold Access Pass (includes Hitman 2 DLC levels) are 80% off (only until January 30), which drops it to $3.39 USD and $7.49 USD respectively. In Malaysian Ringgit, the more-expensive Hitman 2 Gold Access Pass is RM33.25.

(We’ve bought both Hitman 3 and the Hitman 2 Gold Access Pass ourselves to confirm the exact price being charged.)

So, as the math goes, you can buy Hitman 3 and get access to all the content of Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 for only RM144.89.

If you can play on PC, Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store is clearly the better deal. But remember that progress and save transfer (which must be done manually at IO’s site here) can only transfer on the same platform family. No cross-saves. So there are reasons why you might just stick to getting the game on consoles.

But if you want the best deal price-wise, it’s on PC, even if you didn’t buy the last two games on PC. Remember, the free and discounted Access Pass DLCs are only for a limited time, until January 30. So if you want to hop in the latest assassination sim, don’t let this elusive target slip by.
