Tetris Effect Announced, From The Makers Of Rez

Trippy Tetris

Leading up to E3, Sony is announcing several games ahead of E3. The first game was announced to be Tetris Effect. Developed by Tetsuya Mizuguchi‘s studio Effect that made Rez and Lumines, it’s a very trancing version of Tetris. You’ll still rotating and placing tetrominoes but now with added lucid imagery and sounds. The game’s name is a play on a research phenomenon of the same name, where playing Tetris too long will make you see tetrominoes in your dreams.

If you are familiar with Rez and Lumines, you’ll immediately understand. It’s a sensory sensation.

Here’s the trippy trailer:

Tetris Effect will support PS VR, and a demo will be available soon. It is set to be out this fall, around the end of the year, for the PS4.
