Telebbit Is A Precision Platformer Where The Bunny Hops And Teleports

Telebbit, by Ikinagames and Japanese indie publisher Hyper Real has a simple pitch. It’s a 2D precision platformer starring a rabbit, but the rabbit doesn’t short hop, the rabbit short teleports.

Set in the bleak world of 3023, an animal experiment gone wrong sees a rabbit being implanted with a high-performance CPU, and this newfound powers turns the rabbit into a path of vengeance against humans who have put them in suffering.

The bleak setting with a thumping, hard-edge is contrasted with, err, high-contrast, pixel art that evokes the stylings of NES games (but with more details in the sprites).

Telebbit is a platformer where jump a lot, but also make use of its main game mechanic, the teleporter. As the name implies, the rabbit teleports, albeit at a short distance, to reach platforms high and far. You can also drop a beacon that you can teleport to. Combined this with stage gimmicks and you get yourselves and interesting premise for a platformer, one that also has boss fights.

For the hardcore players, Telebbit comes with a speedrun mode where you must complete the entire game under 15 minutes. But for more casual players, there’s even an option to play the game at half speed.

Telebbit is out now on PC (Steam). A demo is available.
