Tekken 8 is back on track. Bandai Namco revealed a new gameplay trailer for its next DLC fighter for Season 2, Fahkumram. But the end stinger ends up stealing the headline.
Armor King, the wild wrestler adorning the head of a jaguar, rival/friend to series mainstay King, makes an entrance. It’s another DLC character from Tekken 7 returning as Tekken 8 DLC, but this is the one that fans want really, really badly.
Armor King will be next DLC character in Tekken 8’s Season 2 Pass, after Fahkumram, expected to release later in autumn (September-November).
Fahkumram himself isn’t that bad either. The Thai menace that needs to be airdropped in a lockbox has a rocking theme that incorporate the sounds of Sarama, a pre-fight ritual for Muay Thai matches, into Tekken’s signature EDM sounds. Dude Heat Engages with a knee kick, and his presence is enough for resident baddie Kazuya Mishima to acknowledge his strength, and for resident madman Bryan Fury to actually say a word instead of just manically laughing.
Plus, we get to hear more lines spoken in Thai. Tekken loves letting their characters speak in their mother tongue (though not all of them do).
Fahkumram will be available in Tekken 8 on July 10 as paid DLC, included in Season Pass 2.
Tekken 8 is out now on PS5, PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S.
