Tales Of Xillia Remastered Out Now

2025 is blessed with not one but two Tales Of remasters. After Tales Of Graces F earlier this year, it’s time for Tales Of Xillia to have that remaster treatment, now available on consoles and PC.

Based on the 2011 RPG, Tales Of Xillia follows the viewpoint of Milla Maxwell or Jude Mathis, two different protagonists whose fate intertwines in a world where “humans and spirits live in harmony,” until an event that sets to upset this balance happens and the heroes have to save the world.

Like most Tales Of games, Tales Of Xillia features a real-time combat system, Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System as it’s called in this title.

The remaster of Tales Of Xillia takes a page of Tales Of Graces F Remastered with offering similar quality-of-life improvements. This includes access to the Grade Shop right from the first playthrough instead of going through New Game+, objective icos on the map (can be toggled off for those who prefer to play like it was in 2011) and the ability to turn off enemy encounters. In addition, there’s an auto-save function, too.

Over 40 DLCs featured in the original release of Tales Of Xillia are bundled in Tales Of Xillia Remastered. Not all of them are present, but most of them are.

With the release of Tales Of Xillia Remastered, this leaves one obvious title to get the same treatment next: its direct sequel, Tales Of Xillia 2. At the time of writing, it’s the last title from the 7th-gen console era (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) that has yet to appear in some playable form on modern 9th-gen consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X|S.

Tales Of Xillia Remastered is out now on PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
