Take A Look At The Improved Customisation Options In Need For Speed Payback

Need For Speed might be taking a different turn again with Payback as they are doubling down on cinematic action sequences, but it will keep one fan-favourite feature in tact: customisation. There is a strong fanbase for visual customisation options on cars ever since the series embraced that idea in Need For Speed Underground, and looks like they have made improvements from the 2015 reboot.

This new trailer showcases some new variety of parts- more ducktail spoilers and wheelie bars are seen. And a new tweet from the official Twitter confirmed that neon underglow is making a return.

Interestingly, performance tuning is also improved by taking a page at a similar concept seen in Ubsoft’s The Crew. The Crew used loot-based performance parts earned as rewards from completing events. Payback has a similar idea, but each car part has specific stats and perks- each adding to a car’s five main attributes: speed, acceleration, nitro, airtime, and brakes.

Also, finding hidden vehicles is also coming to Need For Speed Payback. Again, not an entirely new thing as we have seen this feature in The Crew and even Forza Horizon 3. But the neat twist is that finding is not the end goal. Instead, expect even more customisation for the five derelict projects once you found all the parts spread around Fortune Valley.

Need For Speed Payback will be out on November 10 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
