Take A Look At The Cast Of Characters In F1 2021’s Story Mode: Braking Point

F1 2021, this year’s annual Formula 1 game by Codemasters (and starting this year, also by EA Sports) will see a return of a story mode. Titled Braking Point, the story mode will see you play through three seasons, and you can choose from five different teams to see the story plays out.

This will include the 2020 season, so you do get to race in last year’s cars, with all of last year’s teams and liveries.

Codemasters has revealed its cast of characters that will be starring in Braking Point.

The first revealed character is Aiden Jackson, a “star in the making” that has made it to F1 following a successful run on the feeder series F2. While looking good in front of cameras, he’s struggling with the transition to F1, with the pressure that he might be called up to the bigger teams. So he needs to deliver.

Next is Casper “Cas” Ackerman, a veteran driver known for his “ice-cold and no-nonsense approach”. Now at his twilight of his career, Cas is also under pressure in keeping his drive as more young talent are breaking through for one of the 20 seats in F1. His description, alongside the revealed screenshots of him in Alfa Romeo gear, should remind F1 fans of a very particular Finn.

Back from the F1 2019 story mode is Devon Butler. The Eric Sparrow of F1 games, Butler is a “loud-mouth”, is really not a good person off-track, but absolutely delivers it when it comes to racing. He reprises his role as the antagonist in F1 2021’s story mode.

In addition, supporting casts will also part of the cast in Braking Point. Brian Doyle is the liaison to the team principal, the “larger-than-life” middle man between the team and the player. Cas’ wife, Zoe, will also be in some form as well, who’s here to support her husband, and understands the challenges and sacrifices he has to make as a racing driver.

F1 2021’s story mode seems to have taken notes of all the sports games that have started to put one in their annual games, such as the NBA 2K series, or EA Sports’ own FIFA and Madden entries.

How much of it really delivers (or just as good/bad as the pun in the name) remains to be seen. F1 2021 will be out on July 16 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
