System Shock Remake Demo, Crysis Remastered And The Fabled Woods Gets Nvidia DLSS Support

Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) tech, available on all Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards, is now easier for developers to implement. This is thanks to a new plugin in Unreal Engine 4, one of the most popular game engines, that makes adding DLSS support much easier.

And as such, more games are now supporting DLSS, which uses AI machine learning to boost performance when playing at high resolution. The trick is AI filing to upscale a lower-resolution image.

Two games have benefitted from the new DLSS plugin in UE4. First is the remake of the granddaddy of immersive sims, System Shock, which is now using the tech for the demo.

The plugin took the team at Night Dive Studios a weekend to implement DLSS into the demo. And it has doubled the frame rate you can get while playing at 4K resolution.

The other game is The Fabled Woods, an indie title from CyberPunch Studios and Headup Games. They said it took less than a day for their game to get DLSS up and running.

The Fabled Woods will also support ray-tracing on launch, and will be released on March 25. A demo is also available on Steam.

In addition, Crysis Remastered, the remaster of the 2007 sandbox FPS, also supports DLSS with the latest update.
