Supernatural Cowboy Immersive Sim Weird West New Trailer Shows Off Its Playable Characters

Weird West, the new top-down action-RPG immersive sim game from WolfEye Studios, gets a new trailer, showcasing the very weird, supernatural take of a western setting. With country music that fuses electronica beats.

The trailer also shows two of the five characters you can play as and explore this world. The first is the bounty hunter. She’s now out for revenge after getting a burning mark and seeing her family died.

The other character you can play as is.. a werewolf. The Werewolf is a member of a niche faith that’s been dwindling in numbers due to prejudice. You do get to turn into a werewolf, as the name implies.

These characters are connected in a series of interconnected journeys.

The glimpses of gameplay seen here is a bit hard to discern, but the developer’s post on PlayStation Blog reassures there will be immersive sim elements. This means it’s a sandbox that reacts to whatever makeshift decisions you make. Ammo boxes can be shot and exploded as if it’s an exploding barrel. A tornado being lit by fire will make a… fire tornado. And enemies doused in water will get hit with lightning even harder.

The team does have lineage from Arkane Studios, so hopefully Weird West does deliver that immersive sim promises when it releases later this Fall (Q4) on PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One.
