Team Versus mode will be added to Street Fighter V Arcade Edition, the upcoming big update to the game as well as a new retail version for the 2016 fighting game. Team Versus lets you form a team of three to five fighters and battle against another team of similar size.
To demonstrate this new mode, Capcom enlisted YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, run by Austin Creed, also known as WWE Superstar Xavier Woods. Him and five other WWE superstars get on the couch to play three games. Hijink ensues.
As for the mode itself, Team Versus includes a ton of options. You can play elimination where the loser gets eliminated, last team standing wins. You can also have the game pair the opponents, so the first player of blue team fights the first player of red team, and so on. There are options to play throwaway matches, where the game will continue despite one team already won mathematically.
Before each round, the intro will introduce the characters picked and what order. You can select your V-Triggers, which every character now has two to pick, before each match. The mode can also be played against the CPU.

It’s an interesting addition, and about time this is now built into the game. Street Fighter team matches have always been a side tournament for fun in events like SEA Majors. In Korea, Street Fighter team tournaments are big, namely the Street Fighter Crash, which features in the country’s television broadcast.
Street Fighter V Arcade Edition will be out on January 16 for the PS4 and PC as a free update. New retail versions of the game will include all Season 1 and Season 2 characters.
