Cosy Life-Sim RPG Moonfrost Gets Demo Update, Multi-Language Support

Moonfrost is a cosy life-sim RPG with pixel art graphics developed by indie developer Oxalis Games, a team consists of veteran game developers previously worked at Epic Games, Mediatonic, Unity, NaturalMotion, Sumo Digital, Ubisoft, and more.

Moonfrost is getting an update for its free demo, which doesn’t bring content per se, but instead adds support for multiple languages. Moonfrost is now localised with options for Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

The Chinese localisation is thanks to a new partnership with Singapore-based indie publisher Iterco (stylised as “iterco,” spelt in lowercase for all letters). Formerly known as The Iterative Collective, Iterco is now the Asian publishing partner for Moonfrost. The partnership will allow Moonfrost to be experienced by players across the world, especially those who prefer to play games in their native language.

Iterco will also be doing “regional marketing and community management, establishing a direct feedback loop between Asian life-sim enthusiasts and the core development team in the UK.”

“Oxalis Games has crafted an incredibly pure, heartwarming, and universally appealing pixel world with Moonfrost, said Matthew Quek, CEO of Iterco. “As their publishing partner in Asia, the team at Iterco is thrilled to help bridge the gap for millions of players in the East by bringing high-quality localization to the game.”

“We’re incredibly excited about our partnership with Iterco, helping us reach players across Asia in ways we haven’t been able to before,” said Gina Nelson, CEO of Oxalis Games. “Releasing the Moonfrost demo in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Spanish meant that many more players could experience the game in their native language, and we’re really looking forward to adding further localisation as we move towards launch.”

As for what to expect from Moonfrost as far as the game itself, content-wise, Game Designer Daniel Ferrer says that “we’re hard at work and super excited about the things we’ve been adding to the game, from emotional friendship events to a fully-fledged map system and new fun ways for players to turn our ruined village into a spotless, bustling town!”

Moonfrost is a life-sim RPG set in a world where a second moon shows up and ruined the world. And now it’s up to you to rebuild the world affected by Moonfrost as Frost Hunters. As mentioned before, Moonfrost’s “next-gen” pixel art style is the showstopper feature, as it also blends dynamic lighting and weather effects on top of the very detailed environmental sprites. The game also has free building where you can place various objects (and clean up all the gunk and rubble) to recreate your vision of a cosy town.

And yes, you can befriend and romance the villagers. And yes, you can farm, cook and fish. And that’s on top of all the worldbuilding that you can discover the truth behind the titular Moonfrost.

Moonfrost’s demo, first released as part of Steam Next Fest June 2026, is still live and now updated. The game has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PC (Steam).
