Starfield Getting Nvidia DLSS Support, Ultrawide Monitor Support, And “Eat Food” Prompt In Future Updates

A small update for Starfield has been pushed today, providing some stability and performance improvements, including improvements to framerate, alongside some hotfixes for specific quests.

But the update also comes with a note from Bethesda Game Studios, hinting on what’s being cooked for upcoming updates.

The bullet points on the patch notes on Steam says it all:

  • Brightness and Contrast controls
  • HDR Calibration Menu
  • FOV Slider
  • Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
  • Eat button for food!

These are some obvious, much-needed features. A button to eat a food item immediately seems silly, but if that means having to spend less time to fandangle with the barebones UI (which is a recurring issue I personally have with Bethesda games and the first mods I look for) the better.

Modders have been adding their own implementation of Nvidia and Intel’s upscaling tech as Starfield only launches with AMD FSR2 support. But Bethesda Game Studios have assured that they are working with Nvidia and Intel to bring driver support (Nvidia’s one has just arrived) to get the open-world-ish space adventure to run better.

On the topic of mods, Bethesda has officially confirm that built-in mod support is coming early next year.

Starfield is out now on Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), and available on Game Pass. Check out our review of Starfield here.
