The rebooted Samurai Shodown finally has a release date for Switch. We knew the fighting game was coming, but now you can cross out a proper date: February 25th.
“Samurai Shodown’s upcoming release on the Nintendo Switch will mark the first time the series will be available on a Nintendo console in over 10 years,” said Yasuyuki Oda, Lead Producer of Samurai Shodown. “Fighting game fans will soon be able to pass a Joy-Con to an unsuspecting rival and unleash their fury anywhere around the world.”
The last release referred was Samurai Shodown Anthology for the Wii- a collection of the six past numbered SamSho games.
Samurai Shodown will feature the base game’s roster plus one free character, Hisame Shizumaru, who is available for free in the past. Pre-orders will include Samurai Shodown! 2 (yes, with an exclamation mark), a port of the Neo Geo Pocket game. Those in North America that pre-orders the physical version also gets a custom controller skin thrown in as well.

Samurai Shodown will be out on February 25th for Nintendo Switch. It is also out now on PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia, with a PC release still pending.
