“REDengine Is Done” Says CDPR’s Lead Environment Artist During Gamescom Asia Talk

During a recent Gamescom Asia Panel for the recently released Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion, Lead Enviroment Artist for CD Projekt RED, Kacper Nicpokolczycki, has confirmed via a QnA question that their usage of the REDengine is done as they shift focus on Unreal Engine 5 and The Witcher remake.

The panel itself was talking about designs for the star of the expansion itself, Dogtown, and how the Art team at CDPR was making strives in how to make it look unique and post-apocalyptic in nature, but also adding the Cyberpunk flair to stand-out when compared to Night City.

Kacper also states that he and his team are proud that they worked on Phantom Liberty to give the engine a final swansong that fit their perfectionist standards.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is now out on Xbox Series consoles, PS5 and PC.
