Rage 2 Has Gone Gold, Base Consoles Locked To 30 FPS, PC Specs Revealed

The sequel to the lukewarm open world FPS Rage has gone gold. Rage 2 is developed by id Software (Doom) and Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max) which marries the frantic FPS prowess of the former and the experience of crafting open worlds by the latter.

With the game development all wrapped up, Bethesda has confirmed to tidbits of details players may be curious about.

For one, base PS4 and Xbox One will be capped to 30fps. The PS4 will be on 1080p resolution while the Xbox One is at 900p. This is in line with a previous report that Rage 2 will be running at 60fps on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Both consoles will be locked to 1080p/60fps. No 4K mode here.

As for PC players, Rage 2 will have unlocked framerates and support for various resolutions, including support for Ultra-wide (21:9) and Super Ultra-wide (32:9) displays.

The PC specs requirement has also been revealed. Have a look:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD R9 280 3GB

Recommended Specs:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
