PS5 DualSense Controller In New Colours Coming Next Month

PlayStation has come to their senses with the announcement of new colours for the PS5’s DualSense controller.

Beginning in June, you can get the next-gen controllers with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in two new colours: Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.

For those not a fan of the two-tone white-and-black default colours of the DualSense, then Midnight Black might be what you’re looking for. It’s not a monotone full-black, however. The recoloured top part of the controller is a subtly different shade of black than the standard bottom bit- which is the same for all three colours so far. But for all intents and purposes, it’s a full-black DualSense.

For those that actually want a bit more colour, PlayStation is starting it hot with its red colour offering, which is a bit dark and maroon-y shade “inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos” rather than a fiery bright red seen in one of the early colours of the PS4 DualShock controller.

If the last generation is of any indication, there’s going to be many, many different shades of PS5 controllers coming out in the years to come. But we shall see how many of them will be using vivid shades like this first batch of new colours.
