Project CARS 3 Power Pack DLC Adds Iconic Rides From Japan, And The Nissan Z Proto

A new DLC for Project CARS 3 is out now. The Power Pack DLC adds four new cars, all made from the land of the rising sun.

And the cars are certified icons. The Toyota AE86. The Nissan S15. And the newest of Nissan’s sports car. And that’s not referring to the 370Z.

Developers Slightly Mad Studios got the chance to put in the latest of Nissan’s sports car. So new it’s technically a concept car still. The 2021 Nissan Z Proto is the next-generation of the Z line- following the 370Z.

On Xbox Wire, the developers explained the development process of bringing a one-of-a-kind car into their game. Nissan was the one who approached SMS for inclusion of the Z Proto, and provided CAD data as well as hundreds of photos for the team to recreate it in video game form.

Nissan also requested some specific things for the Z Proto- its mirrors and roof must always be black- so no liveries can be put on there, unfortunately.

It’s an interesting read on how the sausage is made (and how peculiar working with car manufacturers can be, understandably so).

Anyway, here’s the full list of cars in the Power Pack DLC:

  • 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (AE86) + Race Conversion Kit
  • 2002 Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-R Aero + Race Conversion Kit
  • 2020 Nissan 370Z + Race Conversion Kit
  • 2021 Nissan Z Proto + Race Conversion Kit

The Power Pack DLC also includes the following:

  • 16 themed events
  • New legends-based achievements and trophies
  • 12 Liveries / 20 Decals / 5 Patterns
  • 5 Rims / 10 Tyres
  • 10 License Plates / 5 Race Numbers
  • 1 new character with 10 outfits and 10 helmets
