Pokémon Dips Its Toes In The Mobile MOBA Pool With Pokémon Unite

After last week’s announcements of Pokémon Snap and Smile, The Pokémon Company promised more announcements this week with a second livestream.

The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Unite, a free-to-start MOBA for Mobile and Nintendo Switch.

Developed by Tencent and TiMi Games, the game has players choosing Pokémon and battling wild Pokémon for XP, to level up their own so they can take control points and score points for their team before the opponents do.

Similar to Pokken, the game will not feature Pokémon’s typing as a factor in matchups.

The game will include crossplay between mobile and Switch versions.

No release date has been announced.
