Poco has launched the Poco X8s smartphone in Malaysia, joining Xiaomi’s sub-brand for young enthusiasts growing Poco X Pro Series.
The Poco X8s is designed to be more of an all-rounder, where its display, camera, battery capacity and performance are balanced out to fit in a phone comfy for one-handed use, weighing under 187g.
The SOC that powers the Poco X8s is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a step improvement from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 that powered the Poco X8. Keeping it cool is what Poco dub as the “3D IceLoop” system, a special-made shroud that serves as the phone’s thermal solution that can sustain performance over time.
While the Poco X8, Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max all featured big batteries, the Poco X8s has a smaller capacity (but still relatively big) 6330mAh battery, though it balances out with support of 100W Hypercharge that can keep the phone topped up quick.
Couple that with a 6.35-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display with slim bezels and a camera with a 50MP Light Fusion 800 image sensor with OIS, the Poco X8s should serve most use cases, including gaming, just fine. It’s for those who need a phone that do about everything but have it still in a more reasonable size and feel for comfy one-handed use.
The Poco X8s retails at RM1,899 for the 8GB+256GB configuration, with the 12GB+512GB at RM2,099. From November 10-25, the phone, which comes in either Black, Blue and White colourways, are offered at a special promo price of RM1,399 and RM1,699 respectively via mi.com and the official Poco store on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
