Theme park builder and management game Planet Coaster is coming to consoles (including next-gen consoles). But expect some new stuff to accomodate new players.
There will be a new tutorial mode that will guide you step-by-step on how to run a theme park and make a rollercoaster. The tutorial will feature fully-voiced characters to guide you on the ropes.
The new dev diary video also showcases a bit more of gameplay and how the UI is being translated for controllers and playing from the couch. But if you have a mouse and keyboard, you can use that too.
Most importantly, Planet Coaster: Console Edition includes a free upgrade to next-gen consoles. Buy the game on PS4 and Xbox One and get the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version for free. The theme parks you’ve made can be saved, shared and carried over to next-gen consoles. Though there’s no specific mention if save files can be carried over- a problem with PS4 games which getting free PS5 upgrades.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S later this year, holiday 2020.
