Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors Releases In Early Access This September

What if Vampire Survivors, but set in the Pathfinder universe? That’s right, developer BKOM Studios is making a time-based horde survivor game (though press release calls it a “roguelite bullet hell survivor game” which is also true) called Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors.

Lich-emperor Tar-Barphon has been sealed in Gallowspire, but he has a plan to escape. It’s up to three brave heroes to go into the depths of Gallowspire and deal with Tar-Barphon permanently. But can you survive?

Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors lets you pick from three classes (Fighter, Rogue, Wizard), and choose one ally to accompany you. The gameplay loop of surviving an onslaught of enemies to unlock and upgrade weapons is all the same.

The roguelite bit comes from that part where your hero gets revived upon death, and can start a new run and invest in permanent upgrades.

Defeating Tar-Barphon isn’t the end, you need to defeat him again and again. There are 5 difficulty tiers to keep you coming back for another run and see if you can survive.

Pathfinder is tabletop RPG IP by Paizo. The series has been adapted as CRPGs before by Owlcat Games, so this game sees the IP branching off into video games of other genres.

Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors releases on Steam Early Access for PC on September 14. For those attending Gamescom 2023, a demo will be available on the show floor.
