EA’s subscription service, Origin Access on PC and EA Access on consoles, will be unified under one name. It will now be called EA Play. The higher tier Origin Access Premier will be called EA Play Pro.
EA Play used to refer to the E3-adjacent events the publisher holds annually. Now that event will be referred to EA Play Live moving forward.
EA Play is a subscription service that gives you access to a multitude of titles by EA, including upcoming titles like Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21 and Star Wars Squadrons, all for a monthly subscription price. The PC version also has games other than EA- you can check the list of games currently available, the play list as they call it– here.
You get to keep save game progression even when the subscription ends, get up to 10% discounts should you wish to purchase them permanently. However, it’s locked on a per-platform basis. Buying a subscription on PC won’t get you access to EA Play on PS4, for example.
This rebrand have rolled out yesterday, and you can find EA Play on the PlayStation Store (including PS Store Asia), Microsoft Store and Origin. It will also launch on Steam on August 31.
