Online Mode For Watch Dogs Legion Delayed Indefinitely For PC

Watch Dogs: Legion’s co-op multiplayer mode, which was set for release on March 9, is now getting another delay. But only for PC.

As posted by the Watch Dogs Twitter account, the online mode for the open-world game about hacking and recruiting grandmas with hypnotic powers to join a resistance group will be delayed indefinitely on PC. No new release date is given.

“We’ve identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs,” the statement reads. “We’ve made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed.”

Online Mode will arrive on other platforms- PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Stadia- as expected on March 9. But with some caveats.

First, there are issues of game crashes whilst playing tactical ops. These are new multi-step missions you can play only in online mode. They will only be added to online mode by March 23 as the devs resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, the PS4 and PS5 versions of Watch Dogs: Legion’s online mode will have one known issue: limited in-game text chat. This will also be fixed on March 23.

Watch Dogs: Legion’s online mode will feature four-players doing co-op missions. Originally planned to be available post-launch on December 2020, it was pushed back to March 2021.

This rather last-minute delay for the PC version has undoubtedly caused disappointment to some players waiting for the online mode to go… online.

That said, the additional delay is reasonable. Would you want to see Ubisoft release another janky release as they usually known for? Do remember that Watch Dogs: Legion launched in a very, very unstable state at launch.
