Nivalis Now Called Nivalis Nights, Releasing This September

The game formerly known as Nivalis now has a new name. Now called Nivalis Nights, developer Ion Lands and publisher 505 Games have set a release date for the cyberpunk life sim. It will drop on Steam first, and to Epic Games Store at a later date.

“As an independent studio, developing this game meant overcoming hurdles we’ve never faced
before, and we are incredibly grateful to our community for their patience over the last five
years,” says Marko Dieckmann, Creative Director at Ion Lands. “Today, we are thrilled to
finally lock in our official release date and cannot wait for players to dive in, meet Ava, and
experience the city’s quirky charm.”

“We have been excited about this project for a long time and watching it come to life has been an extraordinary and rewarding experience,” says 505 Games President, Neil Ralley. “With the release date not far away, we can’t wait to finally welcome players to the city of Nivalis and discover its secrets.”

As for why the name change, on the Steam blog said “that we’ve been quietly sorting out a legal matter at Ion Lands with a third party” and the situation has since been resolved, which results in the new name.

With the new name and a new release date, Nivalis Nights also now has a new trailer, with some of the same premise: you’re entrusted with the business of a noodle shop in the city of Nivalis, and from there, you can do whatever you want (to the scope of the game’s available features) and live your life as you see fit.

Continue to run your business and start managing bigger establishments including nightclubs. Source ingredients by farming and fishing. Drive a boat. Walk about town. Explore the city. Meet people and hear the stories from customers, friends and even potential love interests. Avoid a serial killer. And new to this trailer, play chess and compete in a tournament.

The last trailer was two years ago, when the game announced its delay to 2025 before going radio silent when it comes to updates on a release date. So having the new Nivalis Nights trailer being a remake of sorts, especially now with its new name, does make sense with that context.

Nivalis Nights is described as a “cosy cyberpunk slice-of-life sim,” the two words may seem like an oxymoron but hey, even in a bleak, corporate dystopia you can make lemonade out of lemons. And even in the most bleak-looking city with its sad spires of concrete can have a nice sandy beach in its outskirts.

Nivalis Nights, will hopefully release on September 26 on PC (Istea
