If you haven’t checked out the Yakuza series now that it has reached peak status, now’s a good time to have a look at Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
Called Yakuza 7 in Japan, this new entry marks a fresh new start with a new protagonist (Ichiban), a new open-world location (Yokohama) and a new JRPG combat system replacing the action-based brawler from previous titles.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon will also be a launch title for Xbox Series consoles (and coming later to PS5 next year). This new trailer intends to highlight what the next-gen consoles’ power will bring to the game. Well, sort of.
In reality, it’s just another reason to see the wackyness of the Yakuza series. See “immersive roleplaying”, “next-gen crustacean AI”, “lightning-fast party support” and “optimised protagonist optimism” in action here:
Yakuza: Like A Dragon releases on November 10 for the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will be available on March 2, 2021 for the PS5. However, the Steam page is still not showing up in Asia regions, for some reason.
