So having the team, who are also known for making games with a bunch of fisticuffs and fights, to helm the new Virtua Fighter shouldn’t come as too shocking.

The person in the trenchcoat and hat is indeed a redesigned Akira. the poster boy gets a new default look. He’s also seen brawling with a new blonde female fighter, Stella.
Sega is really, really want you to know they care about Virtua Fighter, which celebrates its 30th anniversary. Suji Utsumi, COO of Sega, proclaims “Virtua Fighter is finally back” and “you will not be dissapointed by our efforts to bring Virtua Fighter back.”
Riichiro Yamada, Project Producer for the new Virtua Fighter says that “our goal is for everyone to recognise that [the most innovative fighting game] as Virtua Fighter.”
Masayoshi Yokoyama, Director of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio says “As game creators at, Sega, Virtua Fighter is a property that we can’t afford to lose.”
And as to celebrate the occasion, Sega got some folks from the fighting game community and partners that supported the series to say some nice words for the series. This includes an unexpected appearance of Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, which got their first big break from making chips that run Sega arcade games and is now a company worth trillions in USD.
The new Virtua Fighter, which may or may not be called Virtua Fighter 6, has no release date yet.
