How can you turn the already fun and rage-inducing board game about buying real estate and the evils of capitalism into something (theoretically) more fun and rage-inducing? Somehow, Ubisoft has figured it out with a new video game based on Monopoly.
Monopoly Madness sees Mr. Monopoly taking a vacation, and what entails is all-out anarchy. Instead of a board game where everybody takes turns to roll dice and spend/earn money, Monopoly Madness has you roaming the town in real-time.
Collect money and resources, buy property and upgrade them, and also mess with your friends/family/enemies in a free-for-all rat race. Community Chests are now power-up pick-ups where you can grab jackhammers and bulldozers. And there are also random events that can appear to make an already chaotic game of money-grabbing even more.
Monopoly Madness features 20 playable characters inspired by the Monopoly game tokens, with four unique environments.
If Monopoly by way of Overcooked or Mario Kart is something you are intrigued by, Monopoly Madness will be out on December 9 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Ubisoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
