New Gran Turismo Sport Update Adds Two 2019 Super Formula Cars Plus Three Italian Classics

This month, Gran Turismo Sport received two content updates. The first one added five new cars and the Autopolis circuit of Super GT and Super Formula fame. Now, the second update featuring two 2019 Super Formula cars has arrived.

Joining the Dallara SF19 Super Formula (which comes in two versions: one powered by Honda the other Toyota), are three more Italian classics. The Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta, the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary and the Lancia Stratos have been added into the game.

While the five car count seems a bit less than expected, if you count this update and the previous one, which also added five cars, then we are getting 10 cars this month plus a track. That is pretty similar to previous content updates, now it is just spread further.

With the addition of Super Formula, GT Sport now adds an “overtake” action for cars that can use DRS and KERS. For cars that support it, activating these systems should give you that little boost of power needed to land an overtake. Not as stylish as hitting nitrous in an arcade game, but it works.

Update 1.36 also adds a bunch of rounds for GT League, new Scapes featuring cherry blossom trees just in time for Spring and also a Circuit Experience for Autopolis.

The update is now live to all Gran Turismo Sport players.
