2019 Super Formula Cars Coming To Gran Turismo Sport On March 28th

Looks like Gran Turismo Sport is getting another set of cars this month outside of the update coming next week. It has been announced that Super Formula, Japan’s national open wheel racing series, will be represented in the game.

The 2019-spec Super Formula cars are built by Dallara, but comes in two different engines- Toyota or Honda. Just like the real-life counterpart, the Super Formula cars in GT Sport will also have the boost system, designed to overtake other cars whilst racing.

This will also be the most current car to be represented in GT Sport. The game has included Lewis Hamilton’s F1 championship winning car from 2017 and a selection of GT500 cars from Super GT in 2016 and 2008. This also makes the Super Formula cars the first open wheeler in the game to have the halo safety device, seen on top of the open cockpit.

The cars shown in the trailer are interestingly bare. Here’s hoping that means players can slap their own custom liveries.

The Super Formula cars, or its proper name the Dallara SF19 Super Formula, will be arriving in a separate update on March 28th. The update on March 5th will be adding 5 new cars, and possibly other content not revealed yet.
