There’s a new trailer for Gran Turismo 7, a short one where we see series producer Kazunori Yamauchi talks about car culture and how the upcoming racing game will be embracing it. A short session of “Kaz on Cars”, if you will.
Some new footage is seen, like the small glimpse of the Chapparal fan car, a classic Gran Turismo staple, to return for the numbered title. But otherwise, it isn’t anything substantial.
However, the folks at GT Planet have reported that the simple trailer may have teased something: the return of another fantasy Gran Turismo track, Deep Forest.
Throughout the trailer there are line swooshes of various colours that spruce up Yamauchi-san’s automotive culture story. But it’s not for show. Apparently, the lines when connected together do form the layout to Deep Forest Raceway. Some images need to be rotated around, but it does fit the U-shaped layout of the circuit.
The lines appear at 0:23, 0:36, 0:51, 1:11, 1:25, 1:33 of the trailer. Though it has to be said that are more lines that appear that do not add up to the layout of Deep Forest.
However, the ones that do, are swooshing in a counter-clockwise direction, just like the track itself.

So far we have seen Trial Mountain and High Speed Ring being shown alongside various returning real-world circuits. Seeing more classic tracks, missing from Gran Turismo Sport, like Deep Forest should definitely get the long-time fans of the series to be excited again.
Gran Turismo 7 is bringing back many other classic features first pioneered by the series including car tuning and upgrades, something GT Sport deliberately not include as developers Polyphony Digital focused on making that entry multiplayer-focused.
We’ll know for sure if Deep Forest, or any more fantasy tracks for that matter, to return soon enough. Gran Turismo 7 is set for release on March 4 for the PS4 and PS5.
