The Open Beta should be a new build. Compared to the last previously available build at Evo 2026 and for press at preview events, only one new character is added: Blade. Still, if you haven’t gotten a hands-on on Marvel Tōkon, or only played the Closed Beta, there’s a lot more content to check out. Plus, the game has since gone through some subtle gameplay changes that makes it, from the impressions of a novice fighting game player, gives more control to the chaotic 4v4 tag fighter.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be out on August 6 on PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). Unfortunately, PlayStation’s FlexStrike wireless fight stick initially scheduled to coincide the launch of the game has been delayed.
