One of the unique charms of Biomutant is that the characters all talk in gibberish (it’s specifically labeled as such in the menus). So the narrator you hear in the background does a lot of the explanation and translating when you talk to NPCs.
While this is cool, having to wait and hear utter gibberish then wait to hear the translation by the narrator each time you speak to an NPC can be momentum-breaking.
In patch 1.4, live on PC and coming soon to consoles, the developers are addressing this issue. With the new update, you can specifically have dialogue settings to just voice out the gibberish (and read the text), or remove the giberrish (so you immediately just hear the narrator translating).
This should make the dialogue bits less of a lumbering exercise.
In addition, there has been a lot of changes to the tutorial part of the game to help with improving the pace, including removing some dialogues.
In addition, there is a motion blur toggle, New Game+ mode and an extreme difficulty added. You can find the full patch notes here.
Biomutant is out now on PS4, PC (Steam) and Xbox One.
